Business offers

Unless otherwise stated, your quotation is based upon the following:

Business Calls & Line rental packages:

  1. Call rates to all destinations: Your 'Effective call rates' are calculated by dividing the 'Total call spend' by the 'Total call duration' for each destination. These 'Effective rates' are a truer reflection of the per minute calling rates as it includes minimum call charges, call connection fees and billing periods greater than 1 second (where applicable).

  2. For calls to mobile phones, the rates quoted are the average rate to the 4 major mobile networks.

  3. For International calls, the rate quoted is the average call rate to 30 of the most popular International business call destinations

  4. You can save substantially on Directory Enquiries (DQ) calls by using our recommended Service Providers' DQ numbers. If data is available, you will be shown the savings that you would make using these numbers as opposed to the numbers that you use. Please note that 118 118 and BT's 118 500 are more expensive than many other DQ services.

  5. You will be shown the minimum call charge with your provider as compared to our recommended providers.

  6. Call rounding up: BT round up to calls from between 0.1 & 1 pence and also round up call times to between 1 & 60 second periods, depending on the tariff you are on. Our recommended providers calculate costs of each call to 1 decimal place and charge per second.

  7. All rates are exclusive of VAT and are 24/7 unless otherwise stated.

  8. All other rates that are not shown in your quotation are available on request.

  9. Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the calculations in your quotation, we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions (E&OE).

  10. Please check the 'Terms & Conditions' of your current providers' contract including any migration or porting charges.

  11. Call Set-up Fee (aka Call Connection Fee): The price of EVERY call will be the Call Set-up Fee PLUS the pence per minute rate, after any time rounding, and then is subject to a price rounding (see 6 above)

Please be aware that all providers (including BT) must place their Wholesale line rental orders through BT Openreach, who are responsible for the UK access network on behalf of the telecoms industry. Despite all our efforts, we cannot guarantee that they can carry out everything requested until the orders have been completed. BT Openreach may not be able to complete certain changes due to operational or technical reasons. Any additional charges from BT Openreach will be passed on in accordance with the recommended providers 'T&Cs'.

The agreement is for an initial period, and is then renewable. Invoices are sent by email and are to be paid by direct debit. There is a charge of £4.50 per bill for non direct debit payments and £1.50 per invoice sent by post. If a payment is missed or is more than 14 days late, it is subject to interest at 2% pa above NatWest's base lending rate as current from time to time plus reasonable administration charges, subject to a minimum charge of £4.50.

There is no annual minimum usage with our recommended Providers, so you will never have to pay any 'Reconciliation fees' as is the case with some tariff's e.g. BT's Business & OnePlan's.

Business Broadband packages:

The Contention Ratio for all business broadband packages it's 20:1 or better.

Business LLU Line Rental & Broadband packages:

Some exchanges have been enabled by alternative providers to BT to allow LLU (Local Loop Unbundling). This allows clients to take advantage of a wider choice of products, including a combined LLU Line Rental & Broadband package.

  1. Contention Ratio: Standard service = 50: 1, Premium = 10:1 or 20:1, and is prioritized

  2. Prices include the broadband as well as the line rental.

  3. There is no connection fee.

  4. There is a £40 disconnection fee if you leave within 12 months or £20 afterwards.

  5. Upload speeds are upto 1024 kbps

  6. Some packages have a MAXIMUM DOWNLOAD LIMIT

Business Broadband specifications:

Please be aware that an 8 MB broadband service is the MAXIMUM rate that you can achieve as the speed drops off the further you are away from the local exchange, hence the reason it is often called an upto 8 MB service.

All the above packages are self-install and require basic IT skills. If you do not have these skills, you will need an IT specialist as this level of support is not provided in the basic package. Offers for this IT support are available upon request.

Residential offers

Savings versus BT:

In the price comparison tables, all prices are compared against the standard British Telecom (BT) tariff without any discounts or promotions. They are quoted to 2 decimal places and are inclusive of VAT. The BT minimum call charge is 5p per call (unless otherwise stated). Depending on the BT tariff, after this initial period, calls are charged from per second to per minute at the prevailing rate. On some tariffs, calls are rounded up to the nearest 0.1 or 1 pence. A call connection charge is applied on some tariffs and is addition to the call rate charge.

All savings are based on comparing the rates for all the Telephone Service Providers against the equivalent BT standard rate for each time band (i.e. Daytime vs Daytime, Evening vs Evening and Weekend vs Weekend). All rates are inclusive of VAT and the 'percentage savings' are rounded to the nearest whole number.

Telephone Calling Patterns - Savings Calculation:

All calculations are based on 'Call Time' (i.e. the amount of time to each type of destination and time band) as provided by the client.

All prices and percentage savings are compared to BT standard rates and/or against your alternative provider (where applicable).

In cases where you are subscribed to more than one telephone service provider it is assumed that all calls are made using the cheapest rate available to you.

When International destinations are not specified, a call rate based on the average call price to 30 popular international destinations is used.

If the Telephone Service Provider offers 'Inclusive calls' or FREE call entitlements, it is assumed that they are fully used, unless otherwise stated.

For both direct & indirect service providers the savings & percentage savings includes any differences in line rental and monthly fees (if applicable) as compared to the BT standard line rental, together with any call connection charges (levied by some providers). Any initial connection/set-up fees and/or equipment purchase costs are a one-off cost these are NOT included in the savings calculation, but are highlighted as additional costs.

PLEASE NOTE: For all indirect telephone services you will need to continue to pay the BT line rental - you cannot be a 'BT Light User'.

Processing Orders:

Credit card payments:

They use state of the art SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and encryption methods to ensure completely secure transactions. It is important to note that your credit card will show a charge by "PayPal" and NOT 1AffordableCall.

Cheque/Postal Order payments:

We have provided downloadable Word & Notepad forms to help you with these methods of payment.

Fulfilling Orders:

We will process your request in 3-5 working days, after payment by credit card or once your postal order is received or your cheque clears. If, in the unlikely event, we cannot dispatch the information to you within 5 days, we will contact you by e-mail and advise you of the new dispatch date.

Quotation Guarantees:

All guarantees are effective for 7 days after the date of dispatch of the information by e-mail to you and are in addition to your statutory rights. As many telephone service providers reserve the right to change rates and charges without prior notification, we cannot be held responsible for any changes made during this 7 day guarantee period after we have dispatched the information to you.

Monthly Prize Draw Rules

The monthly prize draw will be subject to the following conditions:

  1. You are limited to ONE entry per person per month per provider. No repeat entries are allowed.

  2. All questions on the form must be completed

  3. The draw will take place on the last day of each calendar month & is subject to a minimum of 10 different entrants.

  4. The WINNER will be notified by e-mail within 14 days of the draw & will be given a special keyword that they can submit together with the online application form.

  5. The prize must be claimed within 3 months of the draw.

  6. The prize is not exchangeable for cash.

  7. If, in the opinion of 1AffordableCall, anyone has submitted incorrect or misleading data, the entry will be removed from the draw.

Jurisdiction

In addition, the information contained in the 1AffordableCall.co.uk Website is provided for UK citizens only and English Law governs the terms and conditions and you submit for our benefit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. The Courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all claims or disputes arising in relation to, out of or in connection with this Website and its use and these Terms.

Where national regulatory authorities have jurisdiction over the contents of this Website, 1AffordableCall has attempted to ensure compliance with the requirements of such regulatory body. However, some of the information in the pages contained in this Website is not to be accessed f1rom certain jurisdictions and no representation or warranty is made as to whether the information available in this Website complies with the regulatory regime of countries from which the pages in this Website should not be accessed.
